Anyone, information please?

its not gonna happen!!!  CPEES (accreditation body) of ABET are not giving any to foreign schools.

and another thing is wala ng Mapua Institute of Technology once CHED accept the name change to Malayan University in fact all local accreditation and excellence of MIT will be striped and reset to zero once the changes happened.

It's inevitable that Mapua's application to ABET will
be denied... It's only but a dream... If only TRUE BLOODED
MAPUANS handled it then, it would have been a different story...

MAPÚA Goes ABET

The MapĂșa Institute of Technology will become the first higher education institution in the Philippines to be visited by ABET when an ABET accreditation team visits on October 25 – 27, 2009 to assess and evaluate its Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Engineering programs. ABET is an acronym for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, an accrediting agency founded in 1932 and based in the United States of America. It accredits academic programs at universities and colleges preparing graduates for entry into professional disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. ABET currently accredits approximately 2,800 programs at more than 600 colleges and universities located or chartered within the USA and 35 programs of universities outside of the USA.

Using the Criteria for Accrediting Engineering Programs developed by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), one of the four accreditation commissions of ABET, the said three programs of MapĂșa shall be evaluated on nine criteria namely: 1:Students; 2: Program Educational Objectives; 3: Program Outcomes; 4: Continuous Improvement; 5: Curriculum; 6: Faculty; 7: Facilities; 8: Support, and 9: Program Criteria. As required by ABET Self-Study Reports of the three programs have been sent prior to the October 25 -27, 2009 campus visit. The reports declare the compliance of the three programs with the quality standards set by the concerned American professional and technical societies associated with ABET.

The ABET visit team will be chaired by Dr. Richard Allen Miller. Dr. Miller has a BS Mechanical Engineering degree from Union College; an MS Mechanical Engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a Ph.D. Control Systems & Engineering from the Case Western Reserve University. Joining Dr. Miller is Dr. K.S.P. Kumar, Program Evaluator for Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering programs. Dr. Kumar has a D.I.I. Sc., EE from the Indian Institute, an M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degree from Purdue University. Engr. David S. Cochran, PE is the Program Evaluator for Computer Engineering. He is an alumnus of the Stanford University where he received his BS Electrical Engineering degree and MS Electrical Engineering degree.

AFAIK, hindi buong MIT ang accredited ng ABET. depende po sa program yon. like CE, ABET accredited po siya and hindi po mawawala yon kahit maging Malayan na ang MIT. yun ang sabi ng Dean samin :p
